I sneak in while everyone is still asleep. The midway is small—a few games of chance in the middle with low-lying rides to each side. At the end, though, by the barns, is the prize—the tall and graceful Ferris wheel with colored cages for seats. I walk around it as the sky lightens, looking up and circling faster until I feel as though I am the one taking the wheel for a ride.

The best way to do art is to get carried away, yes? I liked the alternative Ferris wheel images as well. Scott County in what state?
I appreciate the comment. Thanks. Scott County, Kentucky, just outside of Lexington.
Thanks for liking my post, and I love the images in this post, simply brilliant (mind you, you’d never get me going up in one, I don’t like heights!).
Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.
I love this, I have always liked county fairs and ferris wheels.

Fine poetry through the pen (keyboard?) as well as the viewfinder……
You have an artist’s eye, and the unique ability to put what you’ve seen into words for the rest of us to enjoy. Thank you.
Thanks for the generous comment. I appreciate it.
