The young birch is the odd man in the patch of pines we’ve planted—slender, somewhat delicate, with heart-shaped leaves that reflect light as they twirl. I like to watch the young birch when the sun is low in the sky. The thin trunks reach up. The tilting leaves drink in the gold light, then disappear in it. The young birch is a magical tree.

I especially like slide #2 – seems a perfect balance of all the elements (eg. colour intensity, position of trees). Also has a sense of depth with the background trees in the shadows. Very pretty!
All your photos are amazing. I’m sure you’ve heard this many times before, but how do you do it?
super cool editing! or was this done “in camera”?
The first and last images have little editing and are pretty much from the camera, but the second and third are blended images. Thanks for commenting!
Magical post!

These are so interesting!
Thanks. This little tree is right outside my kitchen window, and I’m always looking at it and admiring it. Can’t believe it took me so long to take some photos of it….
